Tutorial: Easy cowl / turtle neck knit dress

Remember my birthday dress? Here’s how it was constructed, without the pintucks.

Select a stretchy knit with desired length of dress from collarbone to knee plus at least 4″ allowance. Width=( widest circumference of bbdy plus 2″ allowance)÷ 2 if cutting on a fold.

The pintucks are optional. Finish the collar last if you decide to add pintucks.

Here is a dress without pintucks. The pintucks are useful for shaping the dress – fitting around the bust and loose from waist down, tighter on the back…

Can be worn with a belt to create a new look.

Please ignore the stray threads. I was so excited over sharing this post that i missed some stray thread.

This particular knit is a little transparent and will need a chemise under. Easy peasy and very comfortable. I’ll be making more of these.
