Refashion: Leftover sleeve + scraps –> Dog turtleneck outfit

One left over sleeve from a long sleeved yellow and black striped top from the reversible skirt project as well as scraps from the circle top with open sleeves project were used for this project. Depending on how fast you work, this could be a 15 minute project or half an hour. It really depends on whether you have to run after your pup or not. :p

I put the sleeve on my dog and made slits where her front legs were. She was very patient and cooperative, undoubtedly motivated by the promise of a new outfit. :p

Sleeve scrapsI then cut strips from the leftover circle top fabric to use as binding for the raw edge at the bottom of the top (the connecting arm section of the original top). Pin and sew with a zigzag stitch.

ImageCut two rectangular pieces from the scrap fabric. Fold in half and sew the edge to create a tube. ImageConnect this to the outfit. I made a boo boo and sewed it wrong side facing out so i folded up the sleeve. Sew with zig zag stitch to allow it to stretch. And… you’re done! Easy peasy. 🙂ImageTried it on Coco right away and she started posing for pics. Awesome dog isn’t she? :p
